Lightning Strike

What if this storm ends?
And I don't see you
As you are now
Ever again

The perfect halo
Of gold hair and lightning
Sets you off against
The planet's last dance

Just for a minute
The silver forked sky
Lit you up like a star
That I will follow

Now it's found us
Like I have found you
I don't want to run
Just overwhelm me

What if this storm ends?
And leaves us nothing
Except a memory
A distant echo

I want pinned down
I want unsettled
Rattle cage after cage
Until my blood boils

I want to see you
As you are now
Every single day
That I am living

Painted in flames
All peeling thunder
Be the lightning in me
That strikes relentless

  1. This audio is a bit hard to hear and I'm not sure if that is suppose to be the point of the song as he sings about him and his other. It is easier to understand the song by reading they lyrics as he goes. The video stopped half way, but the meaning of the song was given ((through the lyrics cause it was harder than shit to understand him.)) The feel this song is giving me is that he is afraid of losing his other or someone close to him and he won't see them ever again. *Me carrying on with blabbing.* ~Clarissa

  2. Alright, so after listening to this, I wouldn't say I'm confused, but I have no idea what it's about. Even after reading the lyrics, I'm like, 'Whaaat?' But that's probably just me, cause I'm a blonde little cookie. After reading the lyrics I realize that the music really compliments it, even though that's not the point. Probably. I'm not looking into it as much as I should, but I think if I do, it'll just confuse me more. It was really hard to understand him. as Clarissa said ^^, but like, it sounded pretty. Even if it's not supposed to. haa. c:--Sharon.

  3. I love snow patrol anyway, but I like this song, I had never heard it before, but I like it. I can relate to it, and think a lot of people could in their own way, 'What if this storm ends and leaves us nothing' Like is what's going on worth it almost. I love what this is saying, and I think i have a new favorite song.
To me this song is saying how much he's afraid of losing someone, and how much he doesn't want them to change. It almost reminds me of losing someone to a war, leaving as one person and coming back as another. AWESOME song.! : ) I am loving it.!!! : )

  4. The emotion is pretty evident, and regardless of whether the audio quality is supposed to be so rough or not it has a good effect on the song in my opinion. Surprisingly enough I do like this song, and if nothing else Claire, you have pretty good taste in music. -Sam

  5. Sophia: I liked the introduction and its synthesized instrumentation. The metaphors in the lyrics are interesting in some places, like "the planet's last dance." I liked the imagery, too. I didn't like the beat, though, I thought it was a little loud and boomy.

  6. I liked how patient the intro wasРthe vocals didn't come in immediately. The drums are trying way too hard though, they don't need to be that epic/booming. Sort of obnoxious. Overall, not that bad, but a bit too clich̩. But better than most.

  7. I liked this song, the lyrics didn't continue rolling, the stopped after every sentence, you could really understand them better. This song reminds me of the style of song you used for your Macbeth project, I liked the music but like Eli said the drums were a little to much. Nice song though.
